Norfolk Lavender is a very popular tourist attraction during the lavender growing and harvesting season – May to September. The heady lavender scent drifts in the air for miles around. From the visitors centre at Heacham, the national lavender collection can be viewed, along with a herb garden and fragrant meadow. Minibus tours are organised to the lavender fields, ending with a visit to the distillery where the flowers have their scented oil extracted. There are plant , gift shops and tearooms on site.

The smell here at harvest time is simply divine. I do love the smell of Lavender and from June to September each year the farm here is awash in purple as the plants come to maturity. There is lots more to do here than simply admire the lavender plants, a children's play area and a distillery are all open to the public and it is fascinating whilst an on site restaurant offers good and reasonably priced meals.
