The Shire horse is one of the largest and most graceful creatures that you are likely to see in public in Britain. These huge powerhouses have been used for centuries as a form of transport. This centre was opened in 1982, and has as its main mandate the aim to bring together in one place as many breeds of the Shire horse as possible. There is a variety of horse-drawn machinery on show here as well as the animals themselves.
