Pakenham Windmill is situated in Thieves Lane in the pretty village of Pakenham in Suffolk. It is eighty feet tall and best seen from the main A143 road just before entering the village of Ixworth. This brick tower mill was restored to full working order in the 1950s. Pakenham is unique in Britain in having both a working watermill and a working windmill although the windmill is now a privately owned mill on a farm. Flour is still ground in the mill, but electricity is now used for this.
