The original Postmill construction was erected in 1627, and operated as an important part of the local economy for many centuries. The entire building was overhauled and restored by a team of dedicated local volunteers. The National Trust acquired the property in 1937, and open the mill to the public during the summer months. It occupies a fantastic position overlooking the Chiltern Hills in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
