The Pleasure Beach is East Anglia's most popular tourist attraction, with over 1.4 million visitors in 2005. Its 70 rides are spread over a nine-acre seafront site. Among the most hair-raising are Disko, a spinning disc with seating for 24 people, Sky-Drop, 22-metre tall pneumatic cylinders, and The Big Apple Coaster, a steel roll-coaster in the shape of a caterpillar. The star attraction is Roller Coaster, the original white-knuckle ride, dating from 1928.
