This is one of the finest examples of a medieval barn. Located in the beautiful rolling hills of Essex close to the historic market town of Saffron Walden. Maintained by English Heritage the barn has been fully restored to its original glory. It consists of eight bays, a brown post roof and scarf joints being used to join the timbers supporting the main rafters. The fantastic piece of history is open to the public throughout the summer months.
