The beautiful college of Queens’ stands proudly on the banks of the river Cam. Founded in 1448 by Margaret of Anjou the college is one of very few to have buildings on both sides of the Cam. One of the college’s most famous landmarks is the so-called ‘Mathematical Bridge’ designed by Sir Isaac Newton. Legend has it that the bridge was originally constructed by Newton without the use of nuts or bolts and in the last centuries students have deconstructed and reconstructed the bridge again and again. Queens’ is centrally located and a popular tourist college.
