Since 1938 radar has played a key role in the air defence of the country. Radar significantly contributed to the success of all the allied invasions of World War II, the defence of the Commonwealth and Air Defence during the Cold War. The RAF Air Defence Radar Museum can be found at RAF Neatishead in the original 1942 Radar operations building and has 16 display rooms including the Original Cold War Operations Room and a Battle of Britain Filter Room of 1940. Role-play is actively encouraged.
