Royal Plain Fountains are a magnet for families on sunny days. They feature 74 vertical jets of water ideal for children's play, especially in hot weather. The fountains are turned on at dawn and off at 11pm every day and illuminated when it's dark. Central to the recent regeneration of Lowestoft seafront, they were opened in a ceremony with fireworks and fountain dancers on June 19 2005.
