The small Sheringham Museum can be found hidden behind shops and close to the Little Theatre along Station Road in Sheringham town centre. The museum’s collections show how the town has changed from a small fishing village specializing in crabs and whelks in the 19th Century, to a fashionable holiday destination for families arriving by railway in the early 20th Century. Displays of local Sheringham history including boat building, lifeboats, fishing and the ’Weybourne Elephant’, which is some 1.5 million years old, make this an interesting visit.
