Latest Southend on Sea Review
| |
Ah, yes the party capital of Essex and the town certainly has a lot of places where you can party. I certainly did when I was a student. The promenade and the mile long pier were frequent haunts of mine as were a number of the pubs and clubs. The town is built on the tourist trade and at times, particularly at the height of summer, it can get extremely busy and crowded; but visit slightly off season and you can get just as good a time, I promise.

My best advice for anyone walking to the end of Southend's 1.33 mile long pier is be prepared to be blown around a bit by the winds of the Thames Estuary, even on a relatively still day. If you prefer to stay on land the town has a huge amount to offer with casinos, restaurants, amusement arcades and superb water sports facilities too.
