This Grade II listed building houses unique local and natural history collections. Exhibits trace the town's eventful past from small fishing community to fashionable seaside resort. Fossils, flints, medals, coins, paintings, photographs and costumes are all here. For nature lovers, seasonal wildlife displays feature local birds, butterflies, shellfish, mammals and wild flowers, and for children, there's a quiz. The museum was founded in 1933 and has been recognized as one of the best in the region.
