St. Catherine’s College was founded in 1473 but was largely rebuilt in the 17th century and its buildings now have a variety of architectural styles. Work on the main court began in 1673; the Chapel was completed and dedicated to God in 1704. The college is situated in the centre of Cambridge just along from King’s and as with many of the 31 colleges is built backing on to the river Cam. It has a reputation of being among the friendliest colleges in Cambridge.
