St. Mary's church is an extremely imposing building that stands proudly in the old part of Amersham. Construction started in 1120, and has been sensitively modernised internally over the years. The acoustics in this building are particularly impressive, making it a favourite with choirs and concert-performers alike. The seating is movable, and can be put into any configuration, and the church has central-heating. St. Mary's attracts a very large congregation due to its many beautiful features and strong community spirit. A very peaceful place to visit.
