The Church of St. Mary is a fine structure and a good example of an English church in the style of the Perpendicular. The church records and register date from 1561 but it is thought that there may well have been a place of worship on this site for up to a thousand years. The church is the only Anglican place of worship in the village and is one of the central community meeting places for the people of this small and friendly settlement.
