St Peter's Church has England's finest Tournai Font. Made from blue-black marble dug from the banks of the River Scheldt in Belgium, it dates from the 12th century. It is one of only nine in the country. The Church is also home to the famous Wolsey's Gateway. The redbrick tower and doorway are all that's left of Cardinal Wolsey's planned school. St Peter’s Church parish is probably the longest continuously occupied city parish in England.
