St Stephen's Church dates from the 1400s, but like many of Ipswich's medieval churches, it was redundant by 1975. The following decades saw it vandalized and derelict. Thankfully, it was rescued and restored in 1994 and is now home to the Tourist Information Centre. Surviving features include a monument on the north chancel wall to Robert Leman, Lord Mayor of London, and his wife, who died on the same day, Victorian stained glass and a fine 16th-century roof.
