Steep Hill is, as the name implies, a hill which requires a certain level of fitness to ascend! Used as a defence method when the city of Lincoln was still a military town in the Roman and Norman times, the hill now attracts many of the visitors to Lincoln, not just to exert themselves on the way up, but to see the fashionable and fascinating shops that the area provides. Once at the top there is the castle, cathedral and the opportunity to have a breather before going back down!
