This Anglo-Saxon burial site was reserved for royalty, and it was here that the priceless Sutton Hoo treasure was discovered in a vast ship grave. There is a large exhibition centre attached to the site which is home to a series of video and interactive presentations, telling visitors more about the history of the area and the lives of Anglo-Saxon kings. There is also a re-construction of the famous ship.
