Built by local landowner and farmer John Webb in 1804, this windmill is one of the finest preserved of its type in the county. It was constructed of local bricks, fired just a mile or so away in the Chelmer valley. A fully restored Grade II listed building, the windmill is still capable of grinding corn into flour. On the ground floor is a rural agriculture museum and the mill has large grounds with a picnic area open to the public. The mill looks out over the rolling Essex hills and the views from the top are breathtaking.
