The Britten Shopping Centre offers 100,000 square feet of shops and cafés. They include British Home Stores, Thorntons, Dorothy Perkins and for refreshments, The Coffee Pot. Even more shopping possibilities are on offer on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, when there's a traditional open-air market here. The Centre also offers easy access to Lowestoft bus station and a car park. The Britten Shopping Centre was opened in 1987 and it's named after the great composer, Benjamin Britten, who was from Lowestoft.
