The Harwich Lifeboat Museum was built in 1876, over 100 years old, and was housed in a Victorian lifeboat-house, it was known as the ‘Number One Station’. The Museum tells a very comprehensive history of the lifeboat service in Harwich since 1821. The lifeboat museum is located in old Harwich, next to the Harwich key. You can look around and have a tour of the museum Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
