The Long Shop Museum is a steam museum housed in part of the factory where the famous Richard Garrett steam engines were produced in Leiston Main Street. The Long Shop building itself was built between 1852 and 1853 and used as an assembly production line for Garrett portable steam engines. Also at the museum is a pictorial display of Leiston Airfield and the 357th Fighter Group along with a fine collection of agricultural items and local memorabilia. Regular steam events are held during the season.
