The Orchard at Grantchester is a little corner of England where time has stood still. A few miles up river from the city of Cambridge, this tranquil garden and tearooms has offered an oasis to students, tourists and villagers for centuries. Since 1868 the gardens have been a popular fixture with Cambridge University students and have been frequented by such great names as Rupert Brooke, Virginia Woolfe and Wittgenstein. The gardens host many outdoor poetry readings and plays throughout the summer months and next door is the Rupert Brooke museum.
