The quiet and peaceful medieval village of Little Walsingham in north Norfolk is home to England’s National Shrine to Our Lady. The story started in 1061 when a vision inspired a local noblewoman to build a replica of the Holy House of Our Lady at Nazareth. Pilgrims from all over Europe soon came to see what was known as ’England’s Nazareth’ and many miracles were reported. Built in the twentieth century the Shrine Church is where there is a replica of the home in Nazareth, of Joseph, Mary and Jesus.
