The Shuttleworth Collection was founded in 1928 by Richard Ormonde Shuttleworth on the site of an old grass aerodrome with eight hangars. The hangars contain a variety of engineering workshops, garages and coach rooms, but in main are home to a collection of over forty historic aircraft. All of the aeroplanes and land vehicles that are on display have been kept in working condition and are demonstrated on regular flight days.
