This multi-award-winning Museum celebrates Great Yarmouth's eventful past, from empty sandbank to Herring Port to seaside resort, through war, plague and peace. Visitors can try their hand at the wheel of a coastal drifter, experience quayside life in the 1950s or wander through a Victorian Row, which was a narrow alleyway between crowded tenements. The museum's home is a converted Victorian Herring curing works. Due to popular demand, it is now open all year.
