Toft Green is the centre of village life in this historic village. It is believed that the village was established when the Danes and the English struggled for control of the area in the 8th Century. By 1066 the village was well established and the village green was recognised as an important place of trading, recreation and meeting in the village. As time has gone on, the green has remained an important part of the community hosting events and simply acting as a place to relax and enjoy the village and all its beauty.
