Great Yarmouth's spectacular Town Hall sits on the side of the quay, the source of the town's wealth when the hall was built in 1882. The architect was John B Pearce and the building was opened by the Prince of Wales, but soon after, the it had to be underpinned because of subsidence. Today, guided tours are available. They include the Assembly Room, the Council Chamber and the Magistrates' Court. They must be pre-booked at reception.
