Ware Museum was founded in 1986 and extended in 2002 with access for the disabled. The museum has an extensive archaeological collection, most of which is Roman as Ware used to be a Roman town. The museum is constructing a replica of the Great Bed of Ware (the orginal is in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London). There are many photographs of the malting industry, the River Lea as a trading route and the Wickham archives, held by the museum.
