Wensum Park is located beside the River Wensum on Drayton Road, to the north of Norwich City centre. It was one of a series of formal parks that formed a building and planting programme after World War I, taking advantage of government grants. They are all characterised by their formal geometric layout drawn up by the park superintendent, Captain Sandys-Winsch. It was opened in 1925 and has a beautiful riverside bridge walk along the river wensum. Facilities include picnic area, children’s play area, paddling pool and boat hire.
