West Green tracks the main road through the centre of the village of Barrington. It is the current and historic centre of the village and all community affairs. The green would have acted as a trading and recreation point for the village as the community grew throughout the middle ages. Today the area is reserved for walking, running and he playing of winter and summer sports. There are several organised sports pitches but many villagers and visitors play their own impromptu games on the green.
