The Wherryman's Way was opened on May 28, 2005 to bring new life to the Southern Broads. Named after the famous cargo barges known as wherries that once sailed through these waterways, it follows the River Yare for 35 miles all the way to Norwich. Highlights include marshes, reed beds, grazing meadows and riverside villages. Sculptures, audio points and information panels are also on the route and 10 circular village walks connect to the Way.
