These charming National Trust protected stables and dovecote has a history that dates back to the 16th Century. Completed in 1541, the dovecote was commissioned by Sir John Gostwick, the Earl of Gostwick, and has room for over 1500 pigeons to live at any one time. The fireplace in the stone stables has been signed ‘John Bunyan’, but there has never been any official authentication of this mark.
