Wymondham Heritage Museum is an award-winning heritage museum housed in historic Bridewell; it was built in 1785 as a new model prison based on the ideas of prison reformer John Howard. The Bridewell later served as police station and courthouse. Displays cover the story of the Bridewell and include an original cell and re-created dungeon. There are many displays of local history including Kett’s Rebellion with a video presentation, farming bygones, 1930s shopping, brush-making, the Victorians and World War II, as well as a gift shop and courtyard garden.
