Situated in a beautiful location on the southern shore of the Firth of Forth looking across to Fife. The castle was built in the 15th Century by one of the most powerful families in Scotland, the Crichtons, the fortress was a formidable place of military power for several hundred years. The site is now managed by Historic Scotland, and offers some of the finest sweeping views of the region from the battlements.
