Located in the heart of Edinburgh, with six exhibition galleries, the City Art Centre is both home to the city of Edinburgh’s outstanding collection of Scottish art, and one of the United Kingdom’s top temporary exhibition spaces. Since it opened in 1980, the City Art Centre has mounted an extensive programme of temporary exhibitions, ranging from contemporary art to rare antiques, from ancient civilisations to science fiction. Admission is free, although a charge may apply for major exhibitions.
