The hamlet of Cove near Cockburnspath has had a natural fishing harbour since the 17th Century. Visitors today see the improved harbour which was built in 1831, together with a cluster of picturesque listed buildings, owned and maintained by Cove Harbour Conservation. A spooky but fun way to reach the harbour is through the eerie tunnel cut through the headland from the beach. Once used by smugglers, on a foggy day the tunnel is extraordinarily atmospheric.
