Craigmillar Castle is a well preserved 15th and 16th Century old ruin. It is located about three miles south-east from Edinburgh city centre and very close to the Royal Infirmary. It is well connected to the cycle path and footpath network. The medieval castle has a tower house, courtyard, cellars and gardens. Three levels of the ruin are open to visitors. Mary, Queen of Scots stayed there. The attraction also won the highest tourism award for incorporating green, environmental and sustainable policies in the running of the property.
