Crichton Castle occupies a beautiful location, close to the banks of the River Tyne. Owned and operated by Historic Scotland, the property was built in the 14th Century and is one of the oldest town house residences in the country. The Chancellor Crichton’s Great Hall was built around 1450 and is one of the most impressive features of the castle along with the diamond-faceted façade added in 1580.
