Greyfriars Kirk is one of Edinburgh's oldest churches, having been constructed in 1602 with completion in 1620. The historic building sits in the middle Greyfriars Kirkyard, a beautiful and scenic graveyard which has been witness to much Scottish history. Today, visitors mostly come to visit the stunning church due to its proximity with Greyfriars Bobby, whose statue sits outside the graveyard boundaries. Inside the church is an original portrait of Greyfriars Bobby as well as informative displays of the church’s 400 year history.
