This must be one of Scotland’s most closely passed archaeological sites. Huly Hill is a large and well preserved Bronze Age burial cairn adjacent to Newbridge Roundabout. The grassy burial cairn, or tumulus, was originally surrounded by a standing stone circle, three stones remain. It is a curiously quiet place to visit, lying as it does under the airport flypath. The site is ringed by yew bushes and holly trees which in ancient times were associated with religious sites and the underworld.
