John Knox House is part of the Scottish Storytelling Centre. It is the oldest “Royal Mile Mansion”, dating back to 1472, and was the final residence of the famous protestant religious reformer. The Scottish Storytelling Centre reopened in summer 2006 with a permanent Scottish Storytelling Exhibition, a theatre, a cafe and a library. Every autumn the Storytelling Festival takes place, with events around the oral tradition, but embraces also song, dance and music.
