Edinburgh’s harbour area has always been an important part of Scotland’s capital. Recently renovated it is now a haven from the bustle of the city with many old buildings and quays of interest as well as a fine selection of Mediterranean style eateries. In summer the Leith Festival brings a dash of colour and theatrics to the docks. The Water of Leith walkway can also be accessed from here and gives an excellent walk via the ancient Dean Village.
