Set at the top of a series of cliffs on the Firth of Forth, Tantallon Castle acted as the seat of power for Douglas Earls of Angus, one of the most powerful baronial families in Scotland. The mighty curtain stonewall that surrounds the castle is without a doubt the finest surviving example of its age anywhere in Scotland. The area is home to an exciting variety of wildlife and plants.
