Whitburn Community Museum is mainly focussed on the heavy industrial past that has shaped the area into what it is through its rise and decline. There are a series of reconstructed scenes, including the interior of an early 20th Century coalminer’s house, complete with original artefacts. Another reconstruction allows visitors to see awful conditions in which coalminers had to work.
