The Lillie Art Gallery was opened in 1962, and is a purpose-built exhibition space that owes its existence to local banker Robert Lillie. The collection was started with a number of his own artworks that ranged from Scottish pieces from the 1880s to the present day. There are now over four hundred and fifty works of art on display crossing a wide spectrum of styles and themes.
