Paisley Museum and Art Gallery is the cultural hub for this community in Scotland, holding an exceptional collection of works of art and historical artefacts that relate to the history of Paisley. The museum was opened in 1871 after being paid for by the local philanthropist Sir Peter Coates. There is lots of interest to discover here, as well as the first class observatory that is open to the public on the same site.
