The Royal College of Physicians was founded in 1599, and this museum explores the fascinating history of the institution and its members in the ensuing four centuries. There is a massive collection of printed material from the 15th Century to today, all relating medicine, surgery, botany, and material medica. The library is particularly strong in 16th Century surgical textbooks, which illustrate how much has changed between the understanding of the human body then and today.
