This cottage is the only surviving building from Shuttle Street that was built in 1735 and continued to grow until the mid 1750s. An important part of the weaving heritage of the area, the cottage was used by Kerr and Pollock cloth manufacturers for many years to produce some of the best examples of textiles that were coming from the region. Today, visitors are invited inside to see how the cottage operated commercially, and the way that the people who ran it lived their lives.
